Autumn light late afternoon reflecting over a still fjord. Nice photography conditions with the low sun creating great light on both the mountains and fjords. Winter seems just around the corner now as the evenings are bringing close to freezing temperatures.
Northern Lights return to Lyngen, visit for January is ideal for winter conditions.

Summer adventures on a daily basis with the last remaining days of the midnight sun. The light is extremely colourful now around midnight. We welcome our Spanish Sanchez family from Madrid, who decided on a Lyngen Fjord sea safari to catch fish and see the ice walls by the fjord and also today the Mollisfossen waterfall on the Reisa canyon river. Great adventures!

Lots of water today after heavy rain last night, creates an impressive flow over the 270m cliff down to the Reisa River
July 16: The Midnight Sun has 10 days remaining before it sets again below the horizon and now the richness of colours around 12am set a perfect landscape for Peter and Lucy taking the photography course during their stay. After breakfast we all headed out for a sea safari around the Lyngen Fjord, taking in the tour of the dry fish harbour of Havnnes, then a lunch at the bird sanctuary, touching the ice walls still right down to sea level on the Lyngen Peninsula and ending the day with a 8kg Cod fish, caught by Veronika but reeled in by Harry!
Peter and Lucy fully focused on camera settings!! Great students!!

July 13: We welcome the arrival of the Thomas family from the UK. Today's activity was river crossings, setting up a lavvo tent, cooking lunch over an open fire, climbing to the top of Hammarsletta viewpoint... not bad for a family of 6 including a hardy 5 year old named Leo! Photos from Peter (the dad) who's also on a photo course to learn a few camera tricks!

July 12: We provided a welcome deserved stay for our 4 German cyclists who started in Oslo and will reach the North Cape later this week. All in all they will cycle 2141km, all 4 walked into the lodge like John Wayne after 19 days of peddling. The jacuzzi was well used, dinner was all eaten and Heronimus, Georg, Willi and Max didn't want to check out! Good luck further guys!

July: The warmest period in July on record provided 30 degrees in the Lyngen Alps which helped provide an almost tropical feel for our UK, French and Norwegian visiting group from London this weekend. Knut, Monica, John, Helene, Anthony, Harriet and Bianca stayed 2 days and spent Saturday on a long sea safari, fishing and site seeing on the Lyngen Fjord. Knut caught the largest fish of the day a 11kg Sei (coley) see below. The highlight of the weekend I think was Graham's (my) BBQ, I think everyone will agree on that, the flames were quite impressive!!!
