Lyngen Lodge On The Map

The lodge is located in Djupvik i Lyngen(Kåfjord District) on the shore line of the eastern side of the Lyngen Fjord along the E6 route approx 2.5 hours east of the city of Tromsø.

Driving to the Lodge - Two routes possible, a) road & ferry combination and b) road only.

a) Ferry Route - two fjords over the Lyngen Alps - Time 2.5 hours. Distance driving 86km. Very scenic but must dependent on ferry timings.
. Drive E8 out of Tromsø and take the route 91 to Breivikeidet 1st Ferry to Svensby on the Lyngen Peninsula.
. Drive off ferry right to Lyngseidet and 2nd ferry to Olderdalen.
. Drive off ferry to left and join E6 direction Alta. Drive 20km to Lyngen Lodge 3km inside Djupvik villiage.

b) Road Route - round the Lyngen Alps (no ferries) - Time 2.5 hours Distance driving 186km. Scenic but longer to drive.
. Drive E8 out of Tromsø to Nordkjosbotn direction Alta.
. Continue E8 to join E6
. Continue to Olderdalen and then 20km to Djupvik
. 3km inside Djupvik lodge is located on rightside

Flight Travel to Tromsø city and Lyngen Lodge

Tromsø is 4.5 hours from the UK via direct flight from London and 2.5 hours from connections in Oslo Norway. You can reach the lodge with an additional flight from Tromsø to Sørkjosen (local airport 15 minutes from the lodge) via http://www.flysas.no/

Gatwick now provide the direct air service to Tromsø (low cost) with norwegian airlines see http://www.norwegian.no/ Direct flights are offered Tuesdays and Saturdays and connections via Oslo during the rest of the week.
