April 26: Spring skiing continues with a wet snow pack at mid to low altitudes. Easly starts are proving necessary to enjoy the best of the skiing. Groups have been on Uløya Island and the Kåfjord mountains. Our week now closing with Kastle Ski adventure tours with Lorraine Huber pro free skier. Hannes group from Austria had a great day and reluctantly packed their skis away for another year. April 20: Sensational day with sunshine and perfect spring skiing. Hannes headed to Sorbmegaisa round and my group to Uløya with the Spirit of Lyngen. Today was the first day of spring and after ski was a bbq on the terrace soaking up the afternoon warm sun... April 19: After 3 days of snow the sun appeared over the Lyngen Alps and islands to provide classic April conditions with warm sun and powder. Kastle Adventures Tours with pro rider Lorraine Huber are here at the lodge and our crew headed to Giilavarri for sensational powder. Hannes headed to Uløya for the Blåtinden traverse and experienced the full package of great snow right down to the beach for a boat pick up. Pictures from Giilavarri today. Hannes's skiing day with the group on Giilavarri 18th April, 5 minutes before the storm moved in again... April 14: Kågen on the cards for Hannes's group from Vienna Austria. The Spirit of Lyngen cruised north for a beach drop off on the west side of Kågen which provided a scenic adventure from the west to east of the island.  On board the Spirit of Lyngen  Johannes climbing up towards Storesandnestinden  Constantin just below the south summit  Evening light over Lyngen Fjord April 12: Good weather prevails and Mattias's group headed for the Uløya traverse to Blåtinden for a boat pickup on the sandy beaches on the west side. We reached the season now with still fjords, great fishing and spring snow. Back to the spirit of Lyngen for "apres sea party!" April 10: Warm weather is creating good spring skiing and groups headed to Giilivarri and Storehaugen for some classic skiing above the fjords.   April 6: Good spring skiing has arrived in Lyngen and both groups have travelled to the islands of Kågen to Store Sandnestinden and one of our favorites The Blåtinden on Uloya. The fishing season has also arrived and groups get the chance to fish for giant cod before returning to the lodge in the afternoon. Pictures below from both Hannes and Mattias. Happy days on the summit of Giilivarri   King Crab served for out Thursday buffet meal April 4: Sunny warm day began after freezing temperatures overnight produced very fine spring skiing. Mattias's group headed to Uløya and Hannes to Sorbmegaisa. Conditions look stable for the next days so spring corn snow is on the menu... The Northern Lights are also back in full action with a brilliant display last night at 11.30pm  It's our Euro team from Austria and France this week aboard the Spirit of Lyngen  Lunch shot on Kjelvågtinden just as the clouds opened and the sun shone over the Lyngen Alps  Pascal carving the spring snow down to Havnnes   April 1: Another sunny day and perfect powder on the Strupbreen glacier. Both groups headed out in the Spirit of Lyngen to Strupen for a beach drop off before climbing in sunshine surrounded by some of the most impressive mountain scenery anyway. Thank you to all groups for an excellent week of skiing and good company.
