Mountain name: Store Reindalstinden 1334m Opposite the lodge across the fjord rises the Store Reindalstinden directly from out of the fjord. The name means Reindeer Valley Summit when translated. It's local name is Jeksel which is Norwegian for the molar tooth as the top glacier and summits appear to look like a giant molar shape. The mountain is quite technical to ascend and descend as the terrain is steep and the ski descent exposed. This mountain is a real jewel in the Lyngen Penisula and until today has not recieved a winter descent on skis down th east face. I've been looking at this line for many years and today the conditions were right. See the photos below. If you'd like to ski a first descent or any of the interesting steep lines in the Lyngen Alps we also offer private guiding 1:1 or 1:2 ratios.
